Plan your VMware Virtualization Activities at Collaborate 2012 in Las Vegas

The virtualization of Oracle on VMware is one of the fastest growing areas in the IT industry.  So the timing is right to join on a number of VMware activities during the Collaborate 2012 Oracle users group conference in Las Vegas April 22 - 26.  This conference brings together the IOUG, OAUG and Quest Oracle user groups.  There are going to be a number of activities around VMware virtualization and the new IOUG virtualization Special Interest Group (SIG) at Collaborate.

A Special Interest Group (SIG) is one of the best ways to network, meet new friends, interact with experts and peers, and to feel more a part of the users group and conference.  I highly recommend you consider joining the IOUG vSIG.  Virtualization is becoming the center of the Oracle eco-system, so join the vSIG which will contain activities, events and knowledge sharing around the hottest topic in the IT industry.  Everyone in the vSIG is looking forward to meeting you.  The vSIG will contain the top Oracle VM and VMware virtualization knowledge experts.  Also, please feel welcome to use the vSIG members as your good will ambassadors if you are new to the Collaborate conference.  Come introduce yourself to us during the IOUG vSIG Welcome Reception on Sunday April 22nd.

Here is a schedule of VMware activities at the Collaborate 2012 Oracle Users Conference in Las Vegas, April 22 - 26, 2012.

The IOUG vSIG Combining VMware and Oracle Virtualization Experts

The Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) virtualization Special Interest Group (vSIG) is combining the top virtualization expertise in the Oracle and VMware ecosystems under one umbrella.  This allows members to leverage the knowledge from both ecosystems.  VMware with 81+ % of the virtualization market brings significant virtualization expertise and experience from the market leader.  Numerous VMware customers are running tens of thousands of virtualized servers.  VMware contains a tremendous amount of very large virtual datacenter management knowledge.   Oracle has entered the virtualization market and is now offering the Oracle VM to it's technology stack.

There is no other organization that can combine the top virtualization experts with the top Oracle database experts into one knowledge space.  With the tremendous growth of the virtualization of Oracle databases and applications, every DBA and application owner looking at the future should be a member of this SIG.

The IOUG Virtualization SIG is at the Tip of the Spear of New Technology

A recent article from Forbes  http://tinyurl.com/6ubr53g states:

    • "Cloud computing will potentially generate at least 14 million new jobs across the globe in the next three years".
    • "IDC's research also predicts reveneus from cloud innovation could reach $1.1 trillion per year within the next 36 months.   The analyst firms estimates that last year alone, IT cloud services helped organizations of all sizes and all vertical sectors around the world generate more than $400 billion in revenue and 1.5 million jobs".

This reiterates that the Cloud is a job generator not a job reducer.   There is a continuing demand for expertise and knowledge around the Cloud and Virtualization.  The Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) has a Virtualization SIG with leading experts in Virtualization.  Just like Client/Server and Middle-Tier platforms created lots of new jobs that did not exist before, Virtualization and the Cloud are doing the same thing.   During the Collaborate 12 conference, the IOUG Virtualization SIG will be delivering numerous presentations around virtualization and the cloud.  These are some of the key presentations and knowledge transfer anyone in IT needs to be a part of.
